Devotion versus Development

First Ram temple ,now so called ramar bridge (adams bridge) between India and Sri Lanka...Sethusamudram project is now in limelight for all wrong reasons..
Importance is given to people's take on the issue rather than
the real issue ...On one side it is PPl beleif on devotion that lord
rama built it so we should no t destroy it..But on other they say it
is for developement of the region...North-South divide is clearly seen in this issue..North india is on devotional belief and may be they wud be against the development of south india...

I personally feel that live for future rather then thinking about past.
try to go ahead with project..it is so good for our nation's development
If your so keen on saving god architecture, first try to maintain temples/mosques/church/gurudwaras
near your place...God is same everywhere ...politicians try
to avoid votebank politics atleast in this issue..

This project is 100yrs dream of true thamizh people..Our god would
like to see their devotees to live in better world than to be
in world of stories and myths...So allow this project to go ahead and make the nation prosperous.

first one must understand the problem.... remember NO ONE IS AGAINST SETHUSAMUDRAM PROJECT.... !!!!!

youth like you must understand that there is no need to destroy a bridge which is against the belief of thousands of people..

The centre has observed that there is an alternative plan without destroying the ramar bridge... carry on that... ! why cant you look out at the alternatives...? If there is no alternative . ok I understand.. & the CM says " there is no one like raam" . such comments are unwarranted... The central Govt has asked 3 months to carry out the alternate plan... you have waited for 60 yrs , but you cant wait for 3 more yrs is it..? & this is not north south divide...

Faith and belief are personal issues which should not be touched upon . I am able to ask HIM (mr Karunanidhi) unanswerable questions in a jiffy ... remember asking questions are easy..

--->Do not blame people are superstitious.
--->Do not think Mr K is the only person doing good to people.
--->Do not elevate his status to a reformer( which incidentally he is not).
--->Do not think you are the only caretakers of nations progress.

Finally , Do GOOD by not hurting others or else please F*** OFF .

As far as i can perceive this issue i would its just another clash between the "so called administration" for the belief of people.I don't think so the hunger strike or any other political act for either supporting or opposing the matter is gonna improve the society we live in. Yeah the project is really a matter of belief of thousands or millions of people involved but the first question which need to addressed is "Is this project necessary now?"

"if we could live with it for 60yrs why can't we for another 3 yrs."
Thats very much true.

Right now the situation which needs to be addressed is uplifting the nation than a project which is not worth while spending so much.Faith and belief need to be prioritized next to the nation as a whole .... not the other way round!!

"DIDN'T MEAN TO OFFEND ANYONE!"

y don ppl use better language in their comments first.wht is ****means?

anyways every citizen has right to think n express views in democracy.u choose wht to take or leave so cant blame ppl for tht.
its the price we pay for our freedom.

we must respect the supreme court and definitely the ruling party has to abide by govt. orders.only thn ppl will.
y they settin a bad example???CM or tamilian he is a citizen too.no other previleges.

to decide wht good for the nation is in our hands.i feel this issue has to be more transparent, less of media n surely not a north-south divide issue.

indians hav always outlived such political gimmicks and national projects stay as blueprints n never executed.our tolerance sometimes kills us turning deaf to this fake politics.
i never accept any single politican cares abt their ppl, langauage or state more thn their seats.in their streetside clash y break our unity?
this s not abt religion its abt indian belief in their heritage.
i wont blame it superstitious at al.

3 or 30yrs..lets not bring our regional diffrences n break our nation.maybe this project can make lives better.but we must also save the present to travel to the future.if there is alternate we can wait or we can make ppl understand reality.
not jus enforce, educate them.they wil progress.

i'm sorry to say i dont subscribe to ur views. there's no question of north not wanting the south to develope. the problem in india is the ppl down south think the north 's against them. we 1st need to be united as indians.
coming to this project: why have a project that'll not only hurt the sentiments of many indians but also cause damage to the environment. this project will affect the livelihood of many fisherfolk. besides this project's not going to save any significant amount of money. some politicians are just misguiding the public that this is a 100 yr dreams of the tamil ppl. does this imply that the britishers mooted this project. in that case they've always done things with a view to achieve their colonial dreams.
all the opposers of this project are asking is the alignment be changed and not that the entire project be stalled.

Guys, its not a question of a north-south divide or anything of that sort.. Why do you think Tamil Nadu was less affected because of the tsunami?? This bridge and Sri Lanka acted as a barrier taking a majority of the impact.. The shallow waters around the bridge, which make the sea less navigable is a blessing in disguise.. If it were not so, 99% of the fishermen around South Tamil Nadu would be left jobless..
Why dont you guys grow up?? Yes, religion is a serious issue.. When the DMK guys can break the offices of BJP for just commenting about a human being whom they consider as a leader, naturally sentiments of millions of people who consider Ram as god would be angered by the comments of the 'honorable' CM.. He himself knows that his arguments are baseless.. Why else did he call off his hunger strike half way through?? The guy is just crazy for power..

Tell me how is it good, tell me how much revenue we are going to make , tell me how much we are going to spend and keep on spending to sustain this bridge. The truth is if it takes 10 rs to build it then every year it takes 5 years to mailtain it (since there will be lots of sand getting deposited every year) then the revenue is less than 3 bucs. Tell me siva is this good. Lets see other terms, what about security, right now no one passes thru this so who ever crosses it is ltte. What will happen to the coral reefs and millions of fish and mammals. This is no way beneficial for the people, but for the polictician becoz of endless contracts they can get out of this. Tell me is this that good of a project than linking rivers.
